The Camarillas At Haig AvenueThe Camarillas will be playing at the Grandstand Bar on Saturday 6th September. Entry will be £3 with the group probably onstage at around 9pm. The camarillas who visit the grandstand bar haig ave on 6sept gave a very polished performance in front of an appreciative audience in Wigan. Following an energetic set from London youngsters farewell city the camarillas took to the stage and quickly moved through their well rehearsed set list. After a bright and energetic opener. They moved into the punchy “low” before lead singer Hannah moved from electric onto acoustic guitar for a change of tempo and a more folky feel for the next couple of numbers. Half way through the set Hannah ditched the guitar altogether for “what I came for” in which a hybrid sound of early Blondie meets Elastica brought the best reaction so far. This was followed by “let me know” which would know doubt sound great driving along any Californian highway! “Everything” was introduced as an angry ballad while “joint” and “plateau” as songs in there own right would not have been amiss on the latest R.E.M. album. The band finished their set with “this girl” probably their heaviest number complete with obligatory guitar solos. Guitarist Keith commented that the band were really looking forward to playing at Southport F.C.and are expecting a selection of their fan base to make the trip as well.
