MINUTES OF MEMBERS' MEETING - TUESDAY 13TH JANUARY

1. Apologies for absence

Katrina, Phil

2. Minutes of last meeting and matters arising

All were covered elsewhere on the agenda.

3. Treasurers report

The Trusts balance currently stands at £27,435. Of this £15,000 has been transferred to a 30 day notice savings account with Cambridge & Counties bank. The Derby trip generated a profit of £2,487 which means that coach trips to date have generated a surplus of £2,413. Membership renewals and new memberships have raised a total of £1,705 since the beginning of July.

4. Membership

Bill reported that Trust membership is now up to 226. A few new members have been gained from the Derby trip and it is hoped more will follow with £5 membership being available to non-members who travelled on the coaches until 14th February.

5. Coach Travel

The trip to Derby was a success and a lot of goodwill was generated towards the Trust from those that travelled. There was only one minor complaint received which will be investigated. The Trust would like to thank all of those who volunteered to be responsible for looking after a coach to ensure that the day went as smoothly as possible. Thanks in particular go to Alan Scarisbrick and Phil Carder for their tireless efforts in organising travel for over 700 people at such short notice. Some of the monies raised from the day will go towards subsidising a future trip with Alfreton looking the most likely. An anonymous donor has also generously put £100 towards the cost of coach hire for this match. The uptake for the Bristol weekend has been good so far with bookings already being into double figures.

6. Cooperation with the club

The Trust will yet again push for a meeting with the club after yet another period of frustrating delays. Until answers from the club are forthcoming the statement issued in December regarding progression with the floodlights can’t be updated although this will happen when concrete answers are received from the club.

7. Fundraising and other Trust events

The Race Night will go ahead on Saturday 21st March with sponsors for races and owners for jockeys and horses now being sought. The evening will be hosted by Tony Adams and the Trust will liaise with Gary Brabin to secure the attendance of the players. A meet the manager session will hopefully take place on Saturday 14th February. The response to the 04/05 players reunion has been very positive and it is hoped to hold a fans v players match followed by a quiz in the Grandstand Bar. As done previously the places in the fans team will be sold off for a pre-determined amount. A presentation evening will be arranged to take place after the last home game of the season where, along with the usual player awards, the Fan Of The Season award will also be presented. The Luke George Save It or Shave It has now been running for 2 months and has raised £410 for Diabetes UK to date. David Raya Martin has been awarded honorary Trust membership and this will be presented to him at the next convenient date.

8. How to build on the Cup success

The most important way to build on the Cup success will be the installation of new floodlights giving both regular and prospective supporters a visual indicator of what the Trust does. It was agreed that the Trust will issue a timeframe for all future major projects to be completed within to avoid the long delays experienced with the floodlights project.

9. Any other business

Richard Hinds was the winner of the quiz issued on the coaches to Derby and wins a years Trust membership. The second Onion Bag Chronicles are expected in the club shop in time for the Chester game with all profits going to the Trust.
