A New Challenge

With 2007 comes a new challenge for Trust in Yellow. Last summer it was decided that due to travel expenditure it was no longer viable for our football club to have a reserve team in the Lancashire League.

Reserve team football is a vital stepping stone for those young hopefuls making the next step up the ladder and closer to making the first team grade, likewise the opportunity to get those players returning from injury, suspension and those on the fringes of the squad, vital match practice.

Trust in Yellow will endeavour, following discussions with Chief Executive Haydn Preece, to put together a portfolio of fundraising initiatives and events, with the intention of bringing supporters together and raising the capital to acquire a mini bus which would allow our reserve team to travel to their various fixtures. Thinking beyond, their maybe scope to create a stream of revenue and raise the clubs' profile through using the bus in the community.

This is a massive project, and once again gives the supporters trust, its' members and supporters of Southport Football Club the opportunity to demonstrate their importance to our football club. I do hope we can count on the support of many of you which has been invaluable in making Trust in Yellow a big success.

Merry Christmas.
