DECEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Trust in Yellow members can now vote in December’s Player of the Month award.

The online voting form can be completed HERE.

Every month throughout the season, members are asked to nominate their star performer from the Southport team, with everyone who votes for the winning player going into a draw to make the presentation.

Important contributions this month have come from Karl Ledsham, who scored in both of the FA Trophy matches against Stockport County, as well as forcing the decisive own goal in the league game.

Chris Almond has been on the scoresheet three times, while Whalley netted twice, including an excellent winning goal on Boxing Day against Macclesfield Town.

Voting is open until Sunday 6 January. The member chosen to hand over the award will be contacted ahead of the match against Lincoln City on Tuesday 8 December, when the presentation will be made.

TRAVEL TO KINGS LYNN FOR JUST £25

With Southport into the last 16 of the FA Trophy, Trust in Yellow is giving fans the chance to travel to the third round match at Kings Lynn next month for a special offer price.

Seats on the Trust coach for the fixture on 12 January are available to members at a price of just £25 if paid in advance.

The cost has been subsidised by the Trust in a bid to ensure as many supporters as possible are able to attend an important match in the club’s quest to make process in this season’s competition.

The price is less than half of the expected cost of travelling by train or car.

The coach leaves the Merseyrail Community Stadium, Haig Avenue, at 7.30am.   The cost for under 16s who are accompanied by an adult is just £8. Non-members can also travel at the reduced rate of £30.

WHALLEY NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR NOVEMBER

Shaun Whalley has been voted the Trust in Yellow supporters’ Player of the Month for November.

With a number of fine performances during the month and helping create several goals, Whalley was the clear winner in the supporters’ poll.

He was presented with his award ahead of Saturday’s match against Braintree Town by Trust member Kieran Taylor.

Whalley is currently in his third spell with Southport and has been one of the most impressive performers this season.

Whalley joins Chris Lever in winning the Trust award, which will be voted on by members every month during the season.

SPECIAL OFFER TRAVEL TO MACCLESFIELD AND TELFORD

Trust in Yellow members have the chance to travel to Southport’s first two matches of the New Year for a special offer price.

Members can travel to the games at Macclesfield Town on New Year’s Day and AFC Telford United on Saturday 5 January for the one-off price of £20.

The visit to Macclesfield, recently relegated from the Football League, is Southport’s first since 1997, while the match at Telford is always popular with supporters.

The Macclesfield coach departs the Merseyrail Community Stadium, Haig Avenue, at 12.30pm and the Telford coach at 11.30am.

Seats are available to non-members for the basic price of £32.

COLIN AINDOW PRESENTATION

Supporter Colin Aindow has received a presentation to mark his achievements in raising funds for Trust in Yellow.

Colin ran 163 miles from Southport to Grimsby Town for the final game of last season, generating a total £2,483 for both the Trust and Help for Heroes.

He overcame injury and terrible weather conditions to complete an extraordinary journey in just three-and-a-half days.

Of the funds raised by Colin, £1,240 will go towards the Trust's floodlights project.

Colin is pictured receiving a presentation from Trust vice-chairman Martin Robinson and board members Rob Urwin and Phil Carder, who supported him during the run.

He has also joined Eric Redrobe and Steve Dickinson in becoming an honorary member of the Trust.
